I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from James Madison University. In addition, I earned a Juris Doctor from The Pennsylvania State University – Dickinson School of Law. While I am not actively practicing law in my planning role, I am a licensed member of the Virginia State Bar.
I have experience advising clients in many aspects of estate and tax planning, including business transition strategies and charitable gifting. For example, I have helped my clients understand the use of intentionally defective grantor trusts for future estate tax avoidance alongside a comprehensive cash flow plan showing the impact of the potential transaction scenarios. This empowers my clients to be intentional in the decision making process.
In my role, I work with our clients to develop comprehensive wealth plans while incorporating my knowledge of behavioral finance and family dynamics. Whether it is a simple or complex plan, a big or small decision, our goal is to help you navigate your personal path to wealth clarity.
Why I Love What I Do
I joined Mainspring Private Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors because I love being a part of a team that is driven to succeed. Growing up as an athlete, and playing Division I field hockey in college, I understand the power of working within a team to achieve a common goal. At Mainspring, our common goal is your financial success.
About me
My family and I live in Richmond, Va. where I continue to play social sports and am passionate about giving back to the community. In prior years, I have been actively involved in the local CASA Superhero Run with Henrico Court Appointed Special Advocates – it’s possible that you’ve seen me dressed as a superhero on the morning news!
I grew up in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley and graduated from Bridgewater College with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. During my time there I was a member of the golf team. Upon graduation I started my career as a Financial Advisor and then in 2010 I joined Wells Fargo. My recent experience has been in the asset management field which has included portfolio management, equity research, retirement planning, and investment performance analysis. I have earned the designation of a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA).
Why I love what I do
I love working with families to help them achieve their goals. Everyone’s financial position is unique and I truly enjoy the complexity of creating solutions for every family. My background is in portfolio management and I have extensive experience in seeing what works for clients to achieve their goals. Every client starts their investing journey somewhere and it is my goal to help educate clients and guide them to financial success.
More about me
Since 2008 I have lived in Richmond where I met my wife. We are now blessed with two children. We enjoy visiting the local parks, festivals, and cheering on our local sports teams. I love staying active whether that is running, golfing, playing sports with the kids, or DIY home improvement projects.
